The Office of Academic Affairs
consists of the Division of Admissions, the Division of Curriculum and
Instruction and the Division of General Affairs. The Division of
Admissions is responsible for all aspects of student admissions, including
applications and examinations. The Division of Curriculum and Instruction
handles curriculum changes, student registration, filing of student
records and transcripts, freshmen enrollment and evaluation of seniors for
graduation.
The Dean of Academic
Affairs, equivalent to what in American Universities would be considered
the Provost, oversees the above Divisions. In addition, he is also
responsible for coordinating the deans of the seven Colleges of the
University. The Dean is continuously working to enhance research
development and teaching standards.
Information for
International applicants
Overseas Chinese students may choose to apply through the National
Overseas Chinese Committee as an overseas Chinese student or may choose to
apply directly to National Chung Cheng University as an international
student. It is strictly forbidden to apply to both systems.
I. Application
-
To complete an
application, the applicant must submit the following items:
-
Two copies of the
Application form with a recent photograph attached to each.
-
Two copies of
diplomas obtained (with certified Chinese or English translations if
the original is in another language) and two copies of complete
transcripts in English.
-
Two recommendation
letters (including one from a teacher of Chinese)
-
A health
certificate (including HIV test and chest X-ray)
-
A study proposal in
Chinese or English
f. Financial statement (a certificate showing sufficient financial
support for his/her education, maintenance and living expenses in
Taiwan.)

All application forms
and supporting documents should be mailed to:

Time of Application:
Applicants seeking admission must submit the Application Forms and all
the supporting documents between the first of October and the end of
February. Applicants should send the applications with full supporting
documents to the office of the Exams. The applications are good only for
the department/institute proposed, applicants are strongly advised to
submit their applications as early as possible and well before the
closing date to ensure that the necessary supporting documents also
reach the Office of the Exams in time. Admission notices will be issued
to those admitted after evaluation. A health certificate and insurance
document (medical insurance) should be submitted upon registration.
Those who do not have any medical insurance will be required to pay an
insurance fee and enroll in a local insurance program.
International students
who wish to proceed with postgraduate courses after they finish the
undergraduate program in this University should apply as a regular
student. There are three channels to enter graduate school in the
University: Evaluation, joint examination, and application for the
admission of master degree or Ph. D. degree.
Those applying with
international student status to a program from which they have previously
graduated from in Taiwan, or who have been expelled from any university in
Taiwan should not apply. Those who violate this rule will be disqualified
from admission.
II. Admission and
Evaluation
Evaluation:
-
All application
documents will be forwarded to the appropriate department/institute for
consideration. The department/institute should organize an evaluation
committee for the evaluation. The result should be sent back to the
Department of Exams along with all relevant documents before April 30. A
re-evaluation will be conducted by the University Evaluation Committee
afterwards.

The University
Evaluation Committee is chaired by the Dean of Academic Affairs. Members
of the committee include Deans of the colleges, the Dean of Student
Affairs and the chairpersons of related departments/institutes. The
result will be forwarded to the President for approval. An individual
notice of admission will be sent to accepted applicants.
